The Physiology Minor can be taken by students from any department in the University but it is particularly appropriate for students with the following majors: Animal Science (AS), Psychology (PSY), Biology (BIO), Biotechnology (BTC), Chemistry (CHM), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE Biomedical Engineering), Foods and Nutrition (FN), Kinesiology and Health Promotion (KHP), Microbiology (MIC), and Zoology (ZOO). It is intended to assist students interested in physiology to discover and prepare for careers in: medicine; dentistry; veterinary science; high school teaching; graduate study in general or comparative physiology, neuroscience, kinesiology, exercise physiology or physiological psychology, and; allied health professions such as human and animal nutrition, exercise and health counseling, biomedical engineering, and domestic animal reproduction. It will do this by exposing students to the diversity of disciplines and careers available to people with an understanding of physiology. It will also provide them with a broad basic background and then permit them to tailor a program of advanced courses to suit their general interests and career goals.
