CE 5230 - Bioresources and Bioenergy Recovery (3)


Plant biomass and algae, as well as biosolids generated during wastewater treatment, will be explored as bioresources to support a sustainable future. Scientific feedstock examination methods and efficient conversion technologies for producing bioproducts and bioenergy along with their environmental impact and supply chain considerations. Introduction to the use of system thinking and life cycle analysis for global challenges in water, energy and food security.

Prerequisite(s): Undergraduate course(s) in chemistry, undergraduate course(s) in introduction to environmental engineering, and graduate standing.
