KIN 4450 - Social and Historical Perspectives in Kinesiology (3) Social and historical perspectives on kinesiology and sport from Colonial period to the present in the United States. Historical and contemporary physical activity, sport, physical education, and exercise are investigated as they shaped and shape American culture. Emphasizes theoretical and applied approaches to addressing issues around race, gender, sexuality, disability, social class and their relationship to sport and physical activity both socially and historically.
