EWS 4850 - Social Movements and Resistance (3) An overview of social movements at the local, national, and/or global contexts. Assesses foundational resistance and social movement theories that frame how historically marginalized groups resist political, social, and economic inequality. Surveys the effectiveness and limitations of organizing strategies that social movements employ. How race, class, gender, sexuality, and citizenship inform the various movements studied.
