EWS 3850 - Education and Social Change (3) Comparative theoretical and empirical overview of historically marginalized student educational issues in the United States, with special emphasis on analyzing the effects of race, gender, class, sexuality, and immigrant status on historically marginalized student’s educational attainment and achievements. An examination of how historical, social, political, and economic forces impact their educational experience. Pays specific attention to the active roles that students, parents, and communities have in educational advocacy and social change.
