ARO 5910 - Aircraft Design (3) Air vehicle design philosophy, including mission planning and conceptual design. Constraint diagrams for vehicle sizing and propulsion system selection. Preliminary layout of wing, tail, fuselage. Detailed weight breakdown, loads, V-n diagram, and structural design. Takeoff, flight, landing performance, and flight envelope. Stability and control, flying qualities. Economics of mission operations and maintenance. Oral and written presentation skills.
