AVS 4473 - Clinical Nutrition (3) Companion animal nutrition course that will be focused primarily on dogs and cats. This course will include a discussion of the nutritional considerations specifically related to health and longevity of companion animals. Commercial and prescription-type diets will be evaluated with an emphasis on functional ingredients. Additional special topics will include the impact of physiological status and disease on nutrient requirements of the animal and nutrient utilization in the body.
Prerequisite(s): AVS 101, AVS 2101 or AHS 110; AVS 201, AHS 305 or AHS 3305 ; and AVS 350, AVS 3350 , AHS 202 or AHS 2202 . Component(s): Lecture Grading Basis: Graded Only Repeat for Credit: May be taken only once Course Category: Major Course
