CE 5504 - Advanced Steel Design (3) Structural analysis and design of steel structures under gravity and earthquake loads. Ductility requirement on seismic design. Behavior and design of steel elements for global and local buckling. Concepts of plastic analysis and its application. Design code provisions for special moment resisting, braced, and eccentric braced frames. Design of composite beams. Design of connections.
