CE 4560 - Structural Design - Steel (3) The theory and design of structural steel tension members, compression members, beams, beam-columns, simple connections, and eccentric connections. Design philosophies and probabilistic basis of load and resistance factors are discussed. This course prepares students for the effective use of the American Institute of Steel Construction Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) specification.
