LS 4611W - Liberal Studies Senior Capstone (3) Engage in an interdisciplinary and inquiry-based research project with a focus on writing research findings for academic and practitioner audiences. Articulate the entire investigative process in writing, including the research methods used and research findings, demonstrate written communication skills related to disciplinary conventions and content, the use of credible sources, and the role of audience. Constructive feedback from peers and the instructor will be provided at three points during the process to improve and assess student written and oral communication skills, among other major skills. The Liberal Studies curricula prioritizes a commitment to social, ecological, and environmental justice, thus students are encouraged to draw on critical perspectives in the LS curricula prior to LS 4611W in formulating and conducting their projects and in the writing process. Writing-Intensive courses must be passed with a C or higher to count towards the University’s 3-unit Writing Requirement.
Prerequisite(s): LS 2011 ; LS 3011 , LS 3021 , LS 3031 , LS 3041 , or LS 3042S ; LS 4011 ; LS4211; LS 4601S ; and junior or senior standing. Grading Basis: Graded Only Repeat for Credit: May be taken only once When Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer Course Category: Major Required Course
