AVS 4430 - Biotechnology Applications in Animal Science (3) A study of the principles and practical applications of biotechnology in Animal Science. Discussion of the implications of genetic engineering, gene transfer, transgenic animals, embryo transfer and embryo manipulation for livestock improvement; present and future importance to the agriculture industry; human and veterinary medicine, ethical issues, patent law and strategies for future problem-solving.
