ARO 510 - Airbreathing Propulsion Systems (4) Thermodynamic cycle analysis of ideal and real engines. Design and performance of inlets, combustors and nozzles. Analysis of compressors and turbines. Engine component matching and prediction of performance. Overall propulsion system performance.
Prerequisite(s): Upper division undergraduate courses in thermodynamics and compressible fluid mechanics equivalent to those required in an ABET accredited program. Component(s): Four lecture hours per week.
