BIO 1150L - Biology and Society Laboratory (1) [GE 5C]


A laboratory support course applying lecture concepts through hands-on, inquiry-based, learn-by-doing approaches. Supports students in majors that require fundamental concepts of biology as they relate to the major themes of evolution; structure and function; information flow exchange and storage; transformations of energy and matter; and systems. Uses the study of biology to illustrate science as a way of knowing, the methods and practices of science, limits of scientific endeavors, ethics associated with biological investigation, and how biology can help inform decisions we make as individuals and as a society. Product fee required.

Prerequisite(s): BIO 1110  or BIO 1150 ; BIO 1150  can be concurrent.
