Introduction to core concepts of artificial intelligence for the purpose of understanding artificial intelligence’s social significance. Presentation of core concepts of machine learning from a non-technical perspective, including a series of projects designed to illustrate the capabilities and common problems of supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning. Explanation of vulnerability to problems, such as algorithmic bias, with significant social harms.

Prerequisite(s): Junior or senior standing.
