EWS 4040 - Contemporary Asian Pacific Islander American Studies (3) [GE 4C] Explores contemporary Asian Pacific Islander American issues including US immigration policies, Asian migration movements, divers ethnic traditions within Asian America, employment, education, family, ethnic resilience, inter-ethnic and intra-Asian relationship, pan-Asian identity, social justice, race relationship and media representations of Asians and Asian Americans examined from perspectives of history, sociology, cultural/ ethnic and gender studies.
Prerequisite(s): Junior or senior standing; and completion of GE Areas 1 and 2, or Areas A and B4 are recommended. Grading Basis: Graded Only Repeat for Credit: May be taken only once Course Category: Major Course, GE Course
