MU 4171W - Theory, History, and Design of Musical Instruments (3) [GE 3C] A modern interpretation of organology, or the study and classification of musical instruments. Explore sound production by classifying and analyzing musical instruments. Examine diverse concepts of musical instruments as tools or beings. Required to design and build a prototype of a new instrument or adaptation of an already existing instrument. Writing-Intensive courses must be passed with a C or higher to count towards the University’s 3-unit Writing Requirement.
