EWS 4010 - Contemporary African American Studies (3) [GE 4C] Critical and interdisciplinary analysis of contemporary African American communities by synthesizing perspectives from the social sciences and humanities. Topics include economic status, education, gender, identity, prisons, migration, citizenship, law and public policy, communities, religion/spirituality, health, politics, pan-ethnic identities, social justice movements, environmental justice, self-determination, popular culture and media representations.
Prerequisite(s): Junior or senior standing; and completion of GE Areas 1 and 2, or Areas A and B4 are recommended. Grading Basis: Graded Only Repeat for Credit: May be taken only once Course Category: Major Course, GE Course
