PHY 4520LW - Advanced Laboratory Physics - Contemporary Experiments Laboratory (1) Advanced experiments in selected contemporary topics in physics not normally encountered at the introductory level. Introduction to a variety of experimental physics topics, provide essential skills that an experimental physicist should have and provide a sense of truly independent research. Example experiments may include microwave propagation, electric polarization, viscosity, Hall effect, magnetic susceptibility and optical and nuclear spectroscopy. Writing-Intensive courses must be passed with a C or higher to count towards the University’s 3-unit Writing Requirement.
Corequisite(s): PHY 4520W. Prerequisite(s): C- or better in PHY 2540 and PHY 2540L, and junior or senior standing. Grading Basis: Graded Only Repeat for Credit: May be taken only once When Offered: As needed; see Academic Department Course Category: Major Elective Course, Service Course
