Introduction to geochemical thermodynamics and kinetics. Topics include the carbonate system, aqueous geochemistry, mineral formation and weathering processes, rock chemistry, global geochemical cycles, and isotopes. Problem solving skills and use of instrumentation. Field measurements, sampling techniques, data evaluation and dissemination.
