BIO 3040 - Environment and Society (3) [GE 5D]


Environmental problems related to use of natural resources by modern societies. Issues discussed include availability of food, water, and energy by a rapidly growing world population, and the effects of pollution, climate change and decreasing biodiversity on ecosystems and societies. May be used as approved elective, but not for required upper division credit by students with majors in the Biological Sciences Department.

Prerequisite(s): Junior or senior standing; and completion of GE Areas 1 and 2, or Areas A and B4 are recommended.
Grading Basis: Graded Only
