BIO 1150 - Biology and Society (3) [GE 5B] Fundamental concepts in biology are taught using socially relevant themes. Biological concepts are related to the major themes of evolution; structure and function; information flow, exchange and storage; transformations of energy and matter; and systems. Uses the study of biology to illustrate science as a way of knowing, the methods and practices of science, limits of scientific endeavors, ethics associated with biological investigations, and how biology can help inform decisions we make as individuals and as a society.
