PSY 3325 - Multicultural Psychology (3) [GE 4C] Examination and exploration of the field of Cross-Cultural/Multicultural Psychology. Examines how psychological theory and research are applied for understanding multicultural issues, primarily within the United States. Explores how issues such as racism, ethnic identity, and media portrayal impact both the communities of color and the majority culture, and how these issues relate to contemporary topics. Some aspects of cross-national psychology may be explored, depending upon instructor’s preference.
Prerequisite(s): Junior or senior standing; and completion of GE Areas 1 and 2, or Areas A and B4 are recommended. Grading Basis: Graded Only Repeat for Credit: May be taken only once
