AMM 2600L - Textile Fabrications Laboratory (1) Practical study of yarn and fabric structures as they apply to apparel. Evaluation of textile properties that impact product quality, cost and end use selection. Emphasis on visual identification and analysis of yarn and fabric structures to scientifically predict performance outcomes. Extensive study of yarn and fabric structures as they apply to the apparel industry. Emphasis is placed on learning to visually identify and analyze yarn and fabric structures facilitated by an in depth lab where students will study and scientifically predict performance outcomes. Evaluate textile properties that impact product quality, cost and end use selection. Designed to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the distinctive nuances of fiber v. fabric, and knit v. weave, ultimately assisting the student in learning to make appropriate choices for specific apparel silhouettes.
