The University Library serves a critical role in Cal Poly Pomona’s drive to be a national leader in inclusive polytechnic education. Whether virtual or in person, the Library serves as the intellectual and cultural “heart” of the campus, supporting student success by bringing people and information together in innovative ways. The Library provides all members of the university community with efficient and equitable access to information necessary to support the university’s teaching and learning, research, and public service mission, to respond to the needs of all members of the campus community to be library and information literate, and to provide a rich independent learning environment where scholarly information can be explored and assimilated into knowledge.

The University Library supports learning, both virtual and in person. Librarians work to prepare students not just for academic success, but for informed decision-making in careers and as citizens. Librarians work directly with students through a program of course-integrated library instruction, and with faculty on research assignment design and course preparation.
