ME 4070 - Solar Thermal Engineering (2) Solar radiation distribution and measurement; methods of solar energy collection; thermal analysis of flat plate solar collectors; experimental testing and efficiency determination; solar energy economics; transient and long-term system performance; photovoltaics (PV); computer modeling for solar and water heating applications. 2 hours lectures/problem-solving.
