Any MAE, MAT, or STA course at the 4000 or 5000 level (other than MAT 4170 , courses numbered 4000, or courses already counted in major or subplan/option required) may be chosen as an elective. No more than 2 total units of MAT 5000 or STA 5000 may be included. No more than 6 total units of MAE 5990 , MAT 4990 , MAT 5990 , STA 4990 , or STA 5990 may be included. A limit of 9 total transfer and/or extension and/or units petitioned for graduate credit may count towards a master’s degree.
Culminating Experience: 2-4 units
Students may choose to take a pair of comprehensive exams or write a thesis as their culminating experience.
