Architecture, B.Arch.: 150 units

Major Electives: 9 units


Select 9 units from list. The Department of Architecture offers 8-10 electives per semester.

In addition to the required courses of 1st and 2nd year, to enter the 3rd year of the program, students must:

  • Satisfy the Graduation Writing Test
  • Hold an in-major GPA of 2.0 or greater.

Portfolio Review:


In addition to the required courses of 1st and 2nd year, to enter the 3rd year of the program, students must pass a Portfolio Review.

Professional Practice Requirement: 500 hours


Prior to graduation, all students are required to register for NCARB IDP and fulfill 500 hours of internship through NCARB. For more information, please see the department website.

General Education Requirements: 48 units

Graduation Writing Test


The Graduation Writing Test (GWT) is suspended until Fall 2025. Students entering Cal Poly Pomona before Fall 2025 are not required to take the Graduation Writing Test.
