The MA subplan/option in Curriculum & Instruction offers advanced preparation for teachers in leadership, classroom teaching, staff development, alternative education, program development and successfully meeting the challenges of teaching in a diverse society. The program is designed for practicing educators to hone their skills and increase their knowledge in a specific area of the curriculum or pedagogical practice. The array of electives allows candidates to customize a program plan to fit both current needs and future leadership plans.

Core Specialization Courses: 15 units
Complementary Elective Courses: 6-12 units
By approval of an advisor, students may take courses in technology, policies and issues, or in content areas by advisement, such as Research Methods (up to 16 units)
Culminating Experience (up to 6 units)
