MU 2202 - Music Theory: Classical I (3) Materials and methods of composition and analysis for Western classical music, focusing mainly on diatonic materials. Scale realizations, cadences, related-key modulations, the Rule of the Octave, typical patterns (schemata), and four-part writing. Study of forms, including sentence, period, small binary, and small ternary (rounded binary).
