Introduction and application of quantitative design and data analysis relevant to food science subject areas. The application of quantitative reasoning and statistical methods for data analysis and experimental design in R&D process involving specific commodity-based product and process development. The basics of technical writing and reporting relevant to food science research and industrial practices. Development of evidence-based technical communication skills necessary for upper division food science and technology technical courses.

Pre or Corequisite(s): C- or better in FST 1250; and C- or better in STA 1200, STA 1202, or STA 1300.
