PLT 3000 - Insects and Civilization (3) [B5] Analysis of insects and related arthropods and their influence on life, ranging from everyday events to how they have changed the history of the world. Selected topics on the importance of arthropods in modern and ancient cultures. Course synthesizes biological and historical topics related to arthropods in context of major world events and cultures both past and present, fields of study including science and technology, medicine, world hunger relief, and others. Course fulfills GE synthesis area B5. Open to all majors.
