ANT 3570 - Culture, Health, and Healing (3) An overview of methods and topics in medical anthropology, an interdisciplinary field that explores how culture shapes our experiences of health, illness, and systems of healing through holistic and cross-cultural study. Approaches include interpretative, critical medical anthropology, and biocultural perspectives. Topics covered include biomedicine; political economy of health; biopolitics; structural violence; care; dismantling race-based medicine; global health; anthropology for public health.
