ME 439/439L - Control of Mechanical Systems/Laboratory (3/1)

Design and comparison of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical control systems. Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical control circuit theory and design. The design and programming of control circuits using microprocessors. Introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers. Application of control systems in thermal, mechanical and mechatronics systems.

Prerequisite(s): C- or better in ME 340  and ME 325/325L .
Component(s): 3 lectures/problem solving and 1 three-hour laboratory.
