EWS 451 - Ethnicity, Identity, and Diaspora (4) Interdisciplinary examination of diasporas across the globe and their impact on nation-states and national, ethnic, racial, and gendered identities. Common features of diasporas and the diverse global/local conditions that spawn and sustain them also explored. Examined from the perspectives of humanities and social sciences. Course fulfills GE Interdisciplinary Synthesis C4 or D4.
Prerequisite(s): Completion of courses in Area A (1, 2, &3), Area C (1 & 3) and Area D (2 & 3). Component(s): 2 two-hour lecture/discussion. Note(s): Open to all majors.
