CE 5201 - Environmental Chemistry (3) Principles of chemistry applied on Earth, including topics related to chemical effects in the natural environment. Special attention is given to environmental (water, soil, air) pollutions, global climate change, waste disposal, and environmental regulations. Chemistry topics include atomic, molecular, and radical structures, stoichiometry, kinetics, and equilibrium. The environment in this context is divided into the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, the lithosphere, and anthrosphere. Integration of concepts from chemistry, hydrology, geology, biology, atmospheric sciences, and others.
