BIO 1020 - Plagues, Pandemics and Bioterrorism (3) An overview of infectious diseases (IDs), with emphasis on emerging, reemerging and new IDs, and the impact these diseases have on society at large. Topics include bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic diseases, control of microbial diseases, vaccines, drug resistance, biological weapons and bioterrorism.
