HST 3306 - Modern India (3) History of modern India’s transition from a British colony to the world’s largest democracy. Interactions among the forces of tradition and modernity, colonialism and nationalism, communal separatism and national integration. Challenges to democracy, development, social justice, and ecological sustainability in independent India.
