EWS 4030 - Contemporary Native American Studies (3) Critical and interdisciplinary analysis of contemporary Native American communities by synthesizing perspectives from the social sciences and humanities. Topics include economic status, education, gender, identity, prisons, federal and state policies, tribal governance, systems of oppression, reservations, communities, religion/spirituality, health, politics, activism and social justice movements, environmental justice, self-determination, popular culture, art, and media representations. Course fulfills GE synthesis area D4.
