IGE 1100S - Consciousness and Community - Service Learning (3) Explore critical questions about interdisciplinarity, learning, the aims of higher education, and the university experience; the nature of human knowledge and the development of human consciousness and community in various regions of the world. Topics will include: myth, symbol, performance, and ceremony; prehistory and patterns of living; identities and cultures; cosmologies and cosmogonies, nature of tragedy, and philosophers and thinkers of the ancient world. Inquiries are grounded in prehistory and the ancient period up to ca. 600 C.E. Activity fee may be required. Activity fee may be required.
