Selected advanced topics in communication systems such as information theory for continuous and digital signals and systems; digital modulation techniques, optimum receivers for additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels and error rate performance, carrier phase estimation and time synchronization methods, digital communication through band-limited channels, and adaptive equalization. 3 hours lectures/problem-solving.
