BIO 3500 - California Flora (1) Introduction to the plant communities of California and their dominant species, with special attention given to those in the California Floristic Province. Botanical terminology used in dichotomous keys and identification books and online resources will be explained, along with descriptions of the major plant families of California in terms of their vegetative and floral characteristics.
