HST 3399 - History of Modern Nation States (3) Analysis of events and developments that shaped a modern nation state, selected in advance and based on faculty specialization. Topics include cultural achievements, nationalism, regionalism, and separatism, ethnic and religious minorities, social class, ideology, modernization, science and technology, and imperialism. May be repeated once when a different historical period of the nation or a new topic is offered. May be taken up to two times, only with different topics, for a total credit of 6 units.
