GSC 4500 - Introduction to Seismology, Earthquakes and Earth Structure (2) Study of generation, propagation and recording of seismic waves and their sources. Stress and strain. Body waves and surface waves. Interpretation of seismograms. Determination of Earth structure. Focal mechanisms; earthquake statistics; seismotectonics.
