MU 1740 - Studio Percussion (1)

Weekly individual instructional lessons. Repertoire and technical studies determined by option selected as appropriate for trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba, or euphonium. Jury examination required. Repeatable up to 6 units. Total credit limited by option. Course not available to non-majors except by special audition. The student will prepare the following based on his/her experience*: Three prepared etudes (snare, timpani, marimba) Three prepared chart excerpts (swing, latin, rock) One prepared etude (chosen from snare, timpani, marimba, drumset).

Prerequisite(s): Music Dept min perform req; and Audition.
Corequisite(s): MU 2700 and appropriate ensemble.
