ME 3190 - Stress Analysis (3)

Thin and thick-walled pressure vessels, shrink fit, curved beams, contact stresses, Castigliano’s theorem, and other special topics. Failure theories, stress concentration, fracture mechanics, steady and repeated loading. Fatigue and endurance strength, shaft design and analysis, keys and keyways, fastener, welds, and spring analysis.

Prerequisite(s): ME Majors; C- or better in ME 219 or ME 2191; and C- or better in ME 233 and ME 233L, or ME 2331 and ME 2331L.
