The British Enlightenment (1660-1785) features study in major authors (e.g. Behn, Dryden, Swift, Pope, Gay, and Johnson among others), various genres, historical contexts, and thematic issues such as, but not limited to: empire, colonialism, empiricism, satire, and aesthetics.

Prerequisite(s): ENG 312 and ENG 350; ENG 3000  and ENG 3010 ; ENG 355; or ENG 3110 .
