ENG 4510 - British Enlightenment (3) The British Enlightenment (1660-1785) features study in major authors (e.g. Behn, Dryden, Swift, Pope, Gay, and Johnson among others), various genres, historical contexts, and thematic issues such as, but not limited to: empire, colonialism, empiricism, satire, and aesthetics.
