HST 4406 - Women in the United States (3)


Women’s role in shaping American history from colonial times to the present. Emphasis on the diversity of women’s experiences based on race, ethnicity, and class; questions of sexual stereotyping and historical legal rights of women; shifting cultural ideals for each gender; changing notions of masculinity and of womanhood over time.

Prerequisite(s): Completion of GE Area A2, and any two in lower division area C (if credit is  for C3) or any two in lower division area D (if credit is for D4).
