INA 561 - History of Environmental Arts I (4) Historical survey of environmental arts of the Western world including the Aegean, Greece, Rome, early Christian, and Byzantine cultures, and encompassing early Medieval, Romanesque, and Gothic periods. The influence of geographical location, social, religious, economic, and political forces. Topics include major monuments and artists, architects, and designers. Appreciation for cultural heritage and utilization of library and museum resources to recognize and evaluate significant environmental design movements.
