The Computer Information Systems Department (CIS) has established four career emphasis: Application Development, Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, and Information Security and Forensics. Emphases provide guidance for helping students to choose courses of interest that best fit your career goals, but there is no requirement for choosing all courses from one specific track for fulfilling the 18 units. A combination of courses cross different emphases will satisfy the required 18 units. Consultation on emphasis selection is available through the CIS Department Advisor. Students should earn a grade of “C” (2.0) or better in CIS 2100 , CIS 2900 , CIS 3050 , and CIS 3252W . Application Development Emphasis: 18 units
Artificial Intelligence Emphasis: 18 units
Business Intelligence Emphasis: 18 units
Information Security and Forensics Emphasis: 18 units
Unrestricted Electives: 2 units
Select a sufficient number of courses so that the total from Major Required, Subplan/Option Required, Subplan/Option Electives, Unrestricted Electives, and Graduation Requirements is at least 120 units. Graduation Requirements: 52 units

The CSU requires all students complete coursework in US History, US Government, and California and local government.
