Reading and Literacy Added Authorization: 15 Units

The Reading and Literacy Added Authorization program, approved by the California commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) offers Multiple Subject, Single Subject, and Education Specialist credentialed teachers advanced studies in reading. Candidates receive experience and knowledge in reading and literacy research, practice, and assessment through in-class activities, required readings, course assignments, and supervised fieldwork. Courses in this program can count as electives in the Curriculum and Instruction, and Special Education subplans/options for the Master of Arts in Education degree, and count as a waiver for the RICA.
